This newspaper went out only on Sundays as a supplement to the newspaper El Sol, so it follows the diary number, the first number says October 1939 without specifying that day and then it is published every Sunday until June 15, 1940, this almost complete only missing two numbers on Sunday February 25 and March 17, 1940, since December 24 and 31, 1939 not published. Trying to repeat the success of Critica, on October 28, 1939 the first number of the Sunday newspaper El Sol with 84 pages came out in Buenos Aires. Its motto was Inter Folia Fructus (Among the leaves, the fruit), a name inspired by the republican diary founded in 1917 by Nicolás María de Urgoiti and counted among its editors José Ortega y Gasset and Félix Lorenzo. Natalio Botana moved - with the main body of Critica - to the headquarters of Avenida de Mayo 654 almost Peru. He also counted on the advice of Spanish exiles such as Manuel Fontdevila (director of El Heraldo de Madrid) and Juan González Olmedilla. It was intended a product of high intellectual level. However, El Sol did not have the expected reception and Botana left the company in May of 1940. His director Raúl Damonte Taborda remained as director. In 1945, when Botana was dead and in the middle of the Peronist era, the morning newspaper could not stand the government persecution and closed its doors. Not in Washington Pereyra. CodMK.
