Repaired bottom corner of the front cover (small triangle piece was lost), two minor tears about 0,3 cm in length on front cover edges and one on the back cover edge. Latvian writer, journalist and translator Rihards Berzins (1888-1942), also known under the pseudonym Rihards Valdess, in present book summarizes his travel notes in period 1921-1933. Since Mai 1920 he began to works as a director in Latvian Telegraphic Agency LETA and travelled a lot. In addition to information distribution, agency published books and calendars, edited magazines. Among LETA publications the most popular became "Ilustrets Zurnals" (Illustrated Journal), which won silver exhibition award in Paris in 1925, Valdess was the journal editor. Valdess main literary work - novel "Juras vilki" (Sea Wolves) was re-edited 5 times! Attractive avant-garde cover design in indian ink technique created by Sigismunds Vidbergs (1890-1970), an outstanding Latvian graphic artist, member of the Riga Artists' Group (1921-1925) and Riga Graphic Artists' Association. In his works, technique of drawing with Indian ink dominates. Professor of the graphic art workshop at the Latvian Academy of Arts (1940-1941).
