Colour lithography, 100 x 108 cm (39.4 x 42.5 inches), originally dissected in 24 segments and mounted on linen (good, used example, slightly age-toned, stained and with small ink-staining, linen with light water-stains, small pin-holes in margins, sporadic old annotations in Ottoman language and min shape of lines, linen thinner in the folds with some sporadic holes, old hand-written title verso). A large separately published detailed map of Istanbul and the Bosporus, with their contemporary infrastructure and urbanism as developed by 1911, published by the Ottoman state press - A large map of Istanbul, its surroundings and the Bosporus was printed in 1911 by the Ministry of General Staff to present the contemporary infrastructure and the urban situation of the area. Marked are the urban areas, separate houses, rivers, hills, elevations of the hills, Muslim and Christian cemeteries, etc. The map was probably meant for the official use for planning and developing purposes. Our example is annotated in Ottoman script and with lines, showcasing new or planned transportation routes. We could not trace any institutional examples on Worldcat. The Bavarian State Library houses a smaller version with the same title, published in the following year (OCLC 165826714). Salt Museum in Istanbul lists two examples on-line. The map is not listed in the bibliography of the Ottoman maps (Osmanli cografya literatürü tarihi. History of Geographical Literature during the Ottoman Period, 2000). N° de ref. del artículo 69738
