Notes; A collection of five publications of the Irish Archaeological Society which were also available separately. The direction-lines of the constituent works include the series number in the Society's publications series. Volume 1 contains numbers 1 and 2 (1841), volume 2 numbers 5 (1842), 7 (1842) and 8 (1843). Each work has its own title-leaf. "A brief description of Ireland ." also includes a type-facsimile of the title-page of the first edition of 1590. "Dublin: printed at the University Press by Graisberry and Gill." - verso of each title-leaf etc. in vol. 1, and some title-leaves in vol. 2. "Dublin: printed at the University Press, by M. H. Gill." - verso of some title-leaves in vol. 2. Pagination: Vol. 1: [4], 13, [3], 68, viii, 31, [1] p., [1] leaf of plates -- Vol. 2: [10], 90, viii, 26, xxxvi, 153, [1], 2 p. Volume 1 includes a report of the first AGM and a list of members of the Irish Archaeological Society, plus a list of "Works preparing for publication".
