In this, perhaps his best known and most important work, the Brazilian photographer, photojournalist, and social documentarian trains his lens on the southern border of the United States, Jews fleeing the former Soviet Union, Hutu refugees from Rwanda, as well as many attempting the dangerous Mediterranean crossing to reach Europe.
