Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good. 1st Edition. This is a very scarce title, probably because the 31 superb etchings used as illustration would each be worth a considerable amount. They are either original etchings by artists living at the time (including James McNeil Whistler), or fine quality etchings produced by the Heliogravure method after famous artists such as Durer and Rembrandt. In addition there are 95 illustrations in the text, some of them full page. The text is xiv,[2],238 pages. Original gilt decorated cloth in sound condition with some repairs, the pages and plates are clean with no foxing or staining. Sylvester Rosa Koehler (1837-1900) was a German-born American author and museum curator. He was the first curator of prints at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
