Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Good. 1st Edition. First Edition (NAP; The Free Press= NAP). This book was previously owned by the renowned sociologist, Daniel Bell. It came directly from his estate. He did not write his name in the book. However he made parenthetical markings on at least 18 pages, with a few comments next to one of them. He also penned some notes on the rear cover of the dust jacket, not the first time I've seen him do that (see third photo). The markings can be seen in the chapter titled Karl Marx' Theory of Social Classes written by the two editors, in the chapter titled Recent Trends in Urban Occupational Mobility written by Natalie Rogoff, in the chapter titled Stages in the Social History of Capitalism by Henri Pirenne, and in the chapter titled Social Stratification and Political Power by Reinhard Bendix. The book is in very nice condition. You can see the covers in the photos. They are very clean. I don't see any soiling. There is a little bit of crinkling at the spine's edges, and two thin creases above the bottom edge one. The cover edges are in solid shape. The two bottom ones have a little bit of color fading. The bottom two corners have light rubbing. The top page edge has a light stain which has no impact at all on the actual pages. The middle page edge has a light scratch which also has no impact on the actual pages. The silver and blue lettering on the front and spine looks very good. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The pages are exceptionally clean. Scrolling through, I didn't see any soiling at all. I didn't see any conspicuous creasing. There are no stamps, or markings of that kind, to be found anywhere. There are no attachments. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It looks like the sun has played around with its coloring. There is a tiny loss off the front top edge, small ones at the corners, a somewhat larger one at the top edge of the spine. There are also several edge tears. There isn't much by way of soiling. The flaps are in solid shape, clean and with only very minor wear. The jacket is not clipped or priced. I have always had it in a fitted protective cover.
