A handwritten note in pencil on the printer's page states, "Lacks Letter from Earl of Chatham at Page 118A / Otherwise complete." This catalog of documents at Welbeck Abbey, home of the Duke of Portland, contains many portraits and facsimiles. The boards and spine are worn, and the end board has split from the spine at top and bottom.

Some entries are for a catalogue of the library of Titchfield Abbey (c1400 - not full text), a letter from James II to the Prince of Orange, a draft of a speech for Queen Anne, a letter from Jonathan Swift to the Earl of Oxford, various letters from George III. to the Duke of Portland, etc. Appended are transcriptions of 5 longer documents and of a set of 24 letters from Matthew Prior, dated 1712-1714.
