Apparently a second printing of the 1899 first printing described in BAL 10912. 68 pp. Bound in white cloth with a fanciful wreath decoration in light green, pink, and yellow on the front cover and a flower and stem in light green and pink on the rear cover. The lettering is in pale blue outlined in a thin black. Under the author's name on the front cover is the SW-enclosed-in-a-heart monogram of Sarah Whitman, the designer of the cover and chief book designer for Houghton Miifflin for many years. This title is one of the very few in which she "signed" her design with a monogram. Our copy is in only fair condition, being very soiled front, spine, and back Several of the front matter pages are almost loose and the rear hinge is broken. Unmarked inside. Perhaps useful as a reference copy and conditionally displayable considering the difficulty of finding a really nice, clean copy of this book.
