Añadir al carritoFirst Edition with matching dates of 1929 on the copyright and title pages. With the statement "First Edition" on the copyright page. "Not since the heyday of Sherlock Holmes has the underworld had an opponent like Barron Ixell. The devastating simplicity of his deductive methods, his profound knowledge of psychology, and his cool assurance in the face of danger, have made him the plague of criminals throughout Europe. "In this tantalizing volume the master-criminologist attacks problems so unique that the local police in Bruxelles, Paris, Berlin, and Geneva have been forced to swallow their pride and enlist the aid of a foreigner." (From the inside fromt flap of the dustjacket.) Scarce in dustjacket which has been preserved intact as it came from a private SPA collection with the small number code "B.312" inked at the top of the right-hand corner of the front panel of the dustjacket(not affecting the yellow title) and at the top right-hand corner of the front free endpaper. In very good plus condition in the original dustjacket with its original price of $2.00 intact at the top of the inside front flap. Bound in finely woven green cloth boards stamped brightly in black ink on the front boards and the spine. Hinges tight; book is clean and apparently unread. With a touch of leeching of color to the edges of the boards and the spine. The marvelous dustjacket by Arthur Hawkings, Jr. (who designed several Faulkner dustjackets) is heavily edge-rubbed and worn at the folds. With light chipping to the top and bottom of the spine. Wear and chipping to corners. A scarce, well-preserved dustjacket from this crime thriller from 1929. First Edition with matching dates of 1929 on the copyright and title pages. With the statement "First Edition" on the copyright page.
