Johnny Chan was born in China. He was nine years old when his family immigrated to the USA and settled in Houston, Texas. Chan began playing poker as a teen and moved to Las Vegas when he was twenty-one. Within a year he turned pro, then in 1987 and 1988 he won the World Series of Poker Main event back to back years, following that up with a second place finish in 1989. Today he is a regular player in the highest games in the world. His latest list of titles includes: 2003 WSOP Pot Limit Omaha Champion, 2003 No Limit Hold-em Champion, 2002 WSOP Match Play NLH Champion, and 2000 WSOP Omaha Pot Limit Chamption. Chan was featured in the Movie Rounders with Matt Damon and Ed Norton.
