A comprehensive and authoritative book in the subject is intended for the students of Mechanical/Chemical/Aeronautical/Production/Metallurgical engineering. The book underlies the objective of understanding of the physical phenomena involved, and the ability to formulate and solve typical problems. The subject-matter has been developed from scratch to a sufficiently advanced stage in a logical and coherent manner with neat illustrations and solved examples. Problems and solutions appended to each chapter should further help for better comprehension of the subject. A set of selected multiple choice questions along with its key is provided at the end of the book.
Dr. R C Sachdeva is a former Professor in Mechanical Engineering and had been leading the department of Mechanical Engineering at Delhi Technological University (Formerly Delhi College of Engineering) as well as Delhi University for several years. He has also served as distinguished Professor at Sharda University, Greater Noida and as Professor Emeritus at ITM University, Gurgaon. He is also the former Director of 4-degree level Institutions of Technology and Management in Delhi and Haryana. Dr. Sachdeva obtained his MTech. from IIT, Kanpur in 1968 and PhD from the University of Liverpool (UK) in 1973. During his long span of teaching, he has guided many PhD and MTech. research students in the areas of boundary layer flows, solar energy and optimal system design apart from heat and mass transfer. He is a Life Fellow of the Institution of Engineers and has several publications in the International and National journals.

Hardcover. Condición: new. Hardcover. This is a comprehensive and authoritative book on the subject aimed at students of mechanical, chemical, aeronautical, production and metallurgical engineering. The book underlines the objective of the understanding of the physical phenomena involved and the ability to formulate and to solve typical problems. With a view to help in better understanding of the phenomena of mass transfer, an effort has also been made to identify the similarities in both qualitative and quantitative approach between heat and mass transfer. The subject matter has been developed from scratch to a sufficiently advanced stage in a logical and coherent manner with neat illustrations and solved examples. Problems and solutions appended to each chapter should further help for better comprehension of the subjects. Properly designed experiments included in the book should further help in the teaching of basic principles. Underlines the objective of the understanding of the physical phenomena involved and the ability to formulate and to solve typical problems.
