In marking the tenth year anniversary, Satoshi Nakamoto recalls his life experiences and how they ultimately shaped the course of what would become an impactful moment in his life. He goes on to recall his childhood and youth in vivid detail--encompassing the trials of an upbringing of abject poverty to his determination in keeping perspective in times of darkness and his many attempts at assimilating a normal life.
The book darkly emphasizes the points at which he fell victim to his own faults, but also how he was ultimately able to overcome and come to grips with it, as well as the many paths he had to take to get there. He goes on to say that what most would have considered a blessing ultimately became a debilitating and at times crippling curse. He remarks how his greatest contribution has always been his family and how his mother ultimately helped him overcome his own fears and embrace who he is, not who he is perceived to be. The book shows a side of him we may have never expected, an at times vulnerable person who seemingly never loses hope in the darkest of moments.
