Section two focuses on notable Deaf men and women, the ear and Deafness and Deafhood. The readings in the third section examine artistic areas of Deafness including the Deaf Poet Society and Deaf View of Image in Art. Differing constructions of Deafness and theories of dysconscious audism are discussed. The text also looks at Deaf culture through two American Sign Language Stories: Bird of a Different Feather and For a Decent Living. Biograf�a del autor

Lisa Koch holds an M.S. in Audiology from Gallaudet College for the Deaf in Washington, DC, and an Au.D. from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. Dr. Koch is an adjunct professor in the School of Rehabilitation and Communication Sciences at Ohio University, Athens, OH. She is a member of the American Sign Language Teachers Association and a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.
