In the 1950's, famous Mid-century graphic designer Alexander Girard created art for the Manhattan Latin American restaraunt, La Fonda Del Sol (everything in the establishment was designed by Girard, from the matchbooks to the sugar cubes). This flexi journal features La Fonda Del Sol's iconic sun imagery.
Biografía del autor
Alexander Girard (1907-1993) is considered on of the greatest textile designers of the twentieth century. From 1952 to 1973 he was the director of design for Herman Miller's textile division. He designed the interior of La Fonda Del Sol restaurant in New York's Time Life Building, for which he won a silver medal from the Architectural League of New York. He also re-designed every aesthetic aspect of Braniff Airlines, from the furniture down to the stationery and sugar packets.
